Succeeding on Instagram and turning it into a source of customers is a dream of many brands.
However, how are you going to create the right Instagram marketing strategy that will let you do that?
Well, if you want one I’m going to give it to you on a silver plate. At least from 90%.
In the end, you’ll always have to tweak it for your own brand individually. It is something you can’t avoid.
That’s why it is 90% and not 100%.
Are you ready to see how it looks like? If so, let dive in…
1. Set A Goal
If there is nothing to measure, if there is no goal to accomplish…how can you know if you are making progress?
What is even going to motivate you or your team to take your Instagram marketing to the next level? No goal = no effort.
You have to set a goal for your Instagram marketing strategy. It can be whatever you want.
Maybe it is going to be “100K followers” or “1,000 new customers per month through Instagram.”
It doesn’t matter but SET A GOAL.
Until you have done this step, don’t read the rest of this Instagram marketing strategy for brands as it is going to be totally useless for you.
2. Start Creating Stunning Content
I say this all the time, there is no way that you are going to become successful unless you start creating great content.
If there is just one thing that you are going to take away from reading this blog post – this should be it!
I would say that 90% of your Instagram success lies in your Instagram content.
The whole Instagram marketing strategy for brands that I am showing you now is dependent on it.
But now, you might want to know how to create content that works…
Well, first you need to understand that there are many types of Instagram content and each of them requires a different approach.
Let’s take a quick look at all of them:
Using Instagram reels is one of the most effective ways to get more reach and followers. Instagram is highly promoting them to everybody on Instagram.
Try to keep the reels short and follow this pattern
Hook (0-3 sec.) – Content (3-25 sec.) – CTA (25-30 sec.)
Of course, you can modify it but keep the timing in a similar ratio. (1:7:2)
This is my favorite content type because it always gets a lot of engagement.
When you are creating carousels there are two super-important factors:
- Structure Of Your Message
- Presentation + Design
If one of these factors is lousy your Instagram carousel is most likely going to fail to reach new people and helping you grow your Instagram account.
And that is not good for your brand’s Instagram marketing strategy.
However, there is so much more to bother of these factors that I am just not able to cover it all here. (Excuse me, but I am not able to write 50,000 words worth of content in a single blog post.)
And that is why I have written my new Elite Instagram Content Creation Cheatsheet.
In it, you will discover everything you need to explode your Instagram growth, engagement, and sales with AMAZING content.
However, let’s continue…
If you don’t know what a single-image post is, it is a post with just ONE image. In other words, it is not a carousel.
And Instagram has started to promote them a LOT!
So, if you are not using them you make a big mistake.
What usually performs well as single-image posts on Instagram are:
- Photos Of Yourself
I definitely recommend trying incorporating them into your Instagram marketing strategy for brands and let’s move on to another step of the strategy…
3. Find Your Own Niche
At first, this might be obvious but it is not.
So many brands try to be generalists instead of specialists that it is crazy.
If you are a generalist your Instagram marketing strategy for brands automatically sucks unless you have 500 employees to take care of all the topics you will have to create content about.
Try to niche down as much as you can.
For example, instead of being a marketing expert become “Social Media Marketing Experts For Millenial Small Business Owners”.
That way you will be able to do two things:
- Achieve better results while creating less content.
- Raising your prices.
Specialists can charge more for their products and services without any consequences when it comes to demand.
Plus, as a specialist, you will have close to zero competition and you will be perceived as the ultimate go-to brand in your niche.
Aren’t the benefits just amazing?
If so, implement this to your Instagram marketing strategy for brands right away!
4. Differentiate Yourself
As I always say, Instagram is only saturated for brands that don’t stand out. It is almost impossible to succeed on Instagram if you are not different from everybody else.
You want to be the golden egg between all of the white ones.
And there is only one way to do that.
Stick to your brand’s values, share your background, share your story, and have a UNIQUE value proposition in place.
That way, nobody would be even close to saying, “We are just like them.”
If people will like your stuff, they will have to go to you because it is not going to be anywhere else.
And that is the key to creating a strong Instagram marketing strategy for every brand.
But there is one last thing, that is probably the most powerful of all…
5. Build A TRIBE
If you are able to build strong relationships with your followers by consistently overdelivering, becoming relatable, and engaging in conversations…
…they will stay loyal to you, engage with all of the posts that you create, buy ONLY from you, and most importantly – they will PROMOTE you.
Isn’t that fantastic?
Building your own community is the most powerful thing that you can do. No one can take it from you, but new people are always going to join it.
That is how you scale your brand on Instagram.
