Selling on Instagram is more than just sharing fancy images and hoping for something good to happen. It is something that requires a strategy.
And believe me, most of the that that you have found before are not working really well when it comes to selling your products or services on Instagram…
That’s why in this article, I’m going to reveal to you some proven tactics that will let you sell your stuff like crazy.
So, are you ready to begin? If so, let’s dive in…
Define Who Is Your Dream Customer
Not that only this is important, but it is extremely important. If you don’t define who is your dream customer, then you are never going to be able to sell anything…
In fact, you won’t even get new followers or reach people at all. And that’s because if you are irrelevant to your dream customers, hardly anything is going to happen.
It’s like selling a steak to a vegan. No matter how hard you try, nothing is going to happen. The vegan is just not going to buy the steak.
Instagram marketing is the same.
If you are selling to the wrong people, then you are going to fail.
So, first of all, define who your dream customer is and create your own dream customer avatar. Ask yourself these questions:
- What do they like?
- What do they hate?
- What are their biggest frustrations?
- What are they currently struggling with?
- What are they passionate about?
- What are their demographics? (Family status, income level, etc.)
- What are they afraid of?
- What are they angry about? Who are they angry at?
- What do they secretly, ardently desire?
- What keeps them up at night?
The truth is that there’s a virtually unlimited number of questions that you can ask about your dream customer, but these are the main ones.
However, you are going to keep on tweaking your dream customer avatar day and night and ensure that EVERYTHING you do is created based on it.
If it’s not, you’re not going to grow and you won’t make any sales…
Share New Content Consistently
Sharing new content consistently is something that is absolutely necessary for selling on Instagram, building credibility, and creating a brand on this platform.
However, what does it even mean to be consistent?
You’ll hear a lot of gurus and course creators talking about how consistency doesn’t mean sharing new content every single day. “It means posting once a week or once in 2 weeks as well.”
And all I have to say is that they are right. This is consistent too…
The problem with that is that sharing a new post once in 2 weeks doesn’t work. You need to share new content consistently and DAILY.
That’s because you’ll get more attention and you will stay on top of the mind of your audience. Plus, it is going to give you the edge you need because, throughout all of the posts that you share, you’re going to share the offer that you have.
That means, the audience is going to be pre-framed and when you get them into the actual sales process, then you’re going to get results like never before.
So share at least one new post a day.
It is extremely important for you to make both high-ticket and low-ticket sales using Instagram.
Share Promotional Content 20% Of The Time
Just because promotional content doesn’t get as much engagement or gets as much reach as other content does, it is not a reason to not share it. That’s because promotional content generates SALES.
However, it should be shared to convert the audience that you already have, not to attract new people.
That means, if you share promotional content all the time, then you are never going to get any attention necessary to make sales.
So, share it only 20% of the time. If you share 10 posts a week, only 2 of those posts can be purely promotional.
That way, your dream customers are not going to leave because you’re an overpromoting person, however, they are also going to be aware of the stuff that you sell and they are several times more likely to enter the sales process.
Now, when it comes to sharing valuable content (content that educates, entertains, inspires), you want to share your offer there as well.
However, it must be done in a way that doesn’t interrupt the main flow of the message.
In other words, you want to share the offer mainly at the end of the content. If you share a carousel, then it is going to be the last slide. If you share a video, then you’re going to spend the last minute or so sharing the offer, and on and on.
Just keep in mind that sharing valuable content on its own is not enough. You have to promote but you must not overdo it.
Engage With Your Audience And Build Relationships
What is the favorite business that you buy from? Of course it’s the one that you have a strong relationship with.
So, that’s why it’s absolutely key that you’re going to build a strong relationship with your audience as well. And one of the best ways to do that is to engage with people.
Social media is a media where you’re meant to be social and connect with people.
That’s why engaging with your audience is such a powerful way to sell whatever you want on Instagram. Because it is going to add the personal touch and the connection people want to have when they buy from a brand.
So start replying to comments, or direct messages, or even go live and engage with people by doing stuff like Q&A.
Remember, the stronger relationships you build, the better off you will be.
And of course it would be a big mistake not to leverage what the platform itself has to offer…
Use Instagram Shopping
A lot of people often forget that this feature even exists. But it does. And that’s why you want to use it for your brand.
Instagram shopping is going to allow you to list multiple products on your profile’s shop and sell them all. It will also let you tag your products in your posts allowing you to use your content to sell multiple products and services at a time.
But creating it is not that easy. It is going to require you to get approved by Instagram and also you’ll need to connect your profile to your Facebook business page to make it work.
However, especially if you’re an E-commerce seller, you’re going to need this.
It’s going to boost your sales like crazy and you’re going to use it to sell your stuff on Instagram all the time.
And that’s why I’m going to reveal to you more about how to do it here.
But now, let’s move on to the next thing absolutely necessary to sell your products and services effectively on Instagram.
