How To Build A Strong Brand On Instagram

Building a brand on Instagram is not an easy thing.

And if you’re new and never even thought about how to do it, it’s going to be even harder.

But if you’re going to do it, it can literally transform your entire business on Instagram forever. And that’s why in this article, I’m going to show you some of the best ways you can do that.

So, are you ready to begin? If so, let’s dive in.

Show More Behind-The-Scenes Content

Example of a behind-the-scenes post from Grant Cardone

You see, your audience is not going to feel like they can relate to you unless you’ll show them how stuff is going behind the scenes.

Your followers have their personal life where the real stuff is happening all day long, and when you share behind-the-scenes videos, they will start to feel like “This has happened to me too. I know how it feels like.” and you will suddenly start to build better relationships.

And the better the relationships, the more engagement you’re going to get and the more sales you’ll make.

Another reason why this is so important is that people just love when a brand becomes vulnerable. When you’re not afraid to share what’s behind the scenes (the good and the bad), people will start to build an emotional connection with you.

So, don’t be afraid to share the behind-the-scenes. It is one of the most powerful things that you can do.

But if you want to build a strong brand on Instagram, you also need to…

Show Your Authority

Showing your authority is absolutely key…especially if you’re teaching something.

To get more followers and build a strong brand on Instagram, you MUST show why people can trust what you have to say.

But how are you going to do that on a platform like Instagram? First, you want to put your greatest accomplishment in your bio.

It’s called an authority sentence and it is used to build trust.

Next, you want to create an ‘about’ highlight where you’re going to tell your story, mission, etc. just like you would on an about page on your website.

Next, you want to leverage the authority of others. The best way to do that is to collaborate with influencers.

And last, you want to share authority-building content. These can be personal posts, accomplishment posts, social proof, etc.

But don’t forget that this shouldn’t be the main part of your content. Make it about 20% of all the content that you share.

Tell Stories

Another incredible way to build a strong brand on Instagram is by telling stories. This is especially effective if you are trying to build a personal brand. And here’s why.

But there are two things. Stories are one of the best ways to tell any kind of a message. They resonate with people and they are way easier to remember than anything else.

And that’s why if you want to build a strong brand, you should tell 3 kinds of stories.

The first kind are background stories. These are the stories about your past experiences and events in your life that you had to go through.

They are super powerful when it comes to building authority and if you’re somebody who started from scratch they will build HUGE trust as that’s where your audience has been and it gives them hope that it is possible and an example that it can be done.

Background stories are especially effective for personal brands.

Then there are what I call the “pitch” stories or epiphany bridge stories.

These stories should be used by every brand and they are sure effective when it comes to selling your products and services.

Here you are going to tell them how you had a problem that had to be solved, you got an epiphany about what could be a solution, you share your journey to making the solution work, and finally win.

Last you tell them that because you want them to succeed to, you created an AMAZING product that they can get when they take a certain kind of action.

It is a powerful way how to build a brand on Instagram, as you will do two things at once. Because it is a story, you will build a bond, but at the same time, you’re going to make a ton of sales.

The last kind of stories that you want to share are achievement stories. If something great has happened recently that you want to share with your audience, tell a story about it.

It is going to build twice as big authority than just letting them know that something happened. For example, don’t tell that you won an award. Tell them a story about how you won that award instead.

Video, Video, Video

Videos are becoming more and more popular content format on Instagram, but they are also an amazing way to build a strong brand on Instagram.

Listening to somebody and watching them makes your brand INFINITELY more legit and trustworthy than just seeing normal posts, wouldn’t you agree?

It’s just easier to trust somebody you see, not just a text post, or some images of products, right?

It’s way more compelling to get a product when somebody is actually presenting it, not just posting a picture with it, isn’t it?

Well, that’s why video is so powerful to build a brand on Instagram. But you also want to use it if for creating content. Try to share more reels and video posts. Not only that they get a lot of exposure but they are also super effective for brand building.

Add A Lot Of Value

The last thing that is going to build your brand on Instagram like nothing else ever could is outvalueing your competitors and totally FLOODING your audience with valuable content.

In fact, it is the only way to build your brand on Instagram.

This is what is going to differentiate you from your competitors, make new people come to your profile and follow you, and get new customers.

If you’re not going to provide them with a lot of value, there is no reason to even stay o your profile in the first place.

So, get to know your audience, and share as much value as you can with them. It is the only way to successfully build a brand on Instagram.
