How To Get More Instagram Engagement

Is your Instagram engagement low? Would you like to discover how to increase it?

If you said yes, then this blog post is going to be a game-changer for you…

Because today, I’m going to share with you 7 steps that will explode your Instagram engagement through the roof!

You will never want to use anything different again. Are you ready? Let’s hop in…

Reply To Comments 10 Minutes Before You Post

This is a powerful technique that can easily increase Instagram engagement on your new Instagram posts.

Why does it work?

Because when you reply to a comment on your previous post, the person is going to get a notification that looks like this:

And that is going to make your followers go and visit your profile, which makes them see your latest post.

And when they see it, they will want to engage with it.

The results of this are just FANTASTIC!

Comment On At Least 90 Posts Every Day

Gary Vaynerchuk calls this the $1.80 strategy.

When I tried it for the first time, the spike-up in engagement on my posts has been MASSIVE.

The strategy is simple. Leave your 2 cents (or opinion) on 9 posts for 10 hashtags every day.

And have more to say than a heart emoji or “great pic!”. The key to growing is being authentic, not being a bot.

And not only this is going to help you increase your Instagram engagement, but it is also going to help you get more followers.

Isn’t that amazing?

Yes, commenting on 90 posts per day might be boring…and that is why there is actually a tool for that!

It literally makes commenting look like a videogame! I enjoy it so much. You literally grow your Instagram page while enjoying the game environment.

If you want you can check this amazing tool here.

But now, let’s move on to the next tip.

Simplify Your Content

Example of Instagram posts with simple message

If your Instagram content is too complex there is one dangerous thing that is going to happen.

And what do people do when they are confused about something? Yes – nothing. Confused people don’t take action.

And that is why your posts get no Instagram engagement.

From 90% it has always something to do with your content and complexity is one of the biggest problems.

Keep the message concise and clear, avoid using technical jargon, include examples, use visual demonstrations, and on and on.

It is going to help you get the Instagram engagement you want.

Use A Call To Action

Using a call to action in your content is one of the easiest ways to boost your Instagram engagement.

If you don’t tell your followers to like, comment, save, or share your posts they are not going to do it.

Just adding a simple call to action like “Double Tap If You Agree!” can cause a 100% increase in likes your posts can get.

It is really powerful.

But where to include those call to actions?

If you are creating Instagram carousels, include it on the last slide.

If you are creating an Instagram reel, you should include it in the last few seconds of the video + add it to the caption.

If you are creating a single image post, you can include it in the footer or in the caption.

If you are creating an IGTV video, do the same as you would do with an Instagram reel.

It is simpler than you think. You just have to start using them and you will see the results that you want.

Promote Your Post In Stories

This tip looks like a slam dunk but it works for increasing your Instagram engagement like magic.

When you create a post, it is going to start appearing on the homepage of your followers…

The problem is that your post is not the only one that is appearing there.

There is a ton of other people your audience follows and suddenly you’re all going to be competing for space.

Of course, your post is going to be seen by a lot of people, but it is still not going to reach all of those who have seen the posts from your competitors first.

For that reason, you want to reshare your latest post in stories.

Because just because they haven’t seen your post in the feed, doesn’t mean they will not see it in stories.

You can recover a ton of potentially lost engagement by doing that, and I highly recommend it.

Also, try adding a poll below the post to increase the number of views the story with the post is going to have. It works like a charm.

Have An Engagement Strategy

This is something of massive importance. Besides using the $1.80 strategy from Gary Vee you can create your own customized one…

…and that can bring you even more results.

The problem is that there are many factors that come to play when you create it.

First, there is the number of followers that you have.

Second, it is going to depend on how many comments your posts get on average.

And third, it is going to depend on how much time you have.

If you have more followers, you should focus on building a strong community, and instead of commenting on places like hashtags you should reply to more comments to build relationships.

That way you will get higher engagement on your future posts as well as you will make more sales.

If you have a lot of followers but not so many comments on your posts, you should comment on the posts from the people you follow.

That is going to help you get more exposure and again, increase your Instagram engagement.

And lastly, the number of comments is going to depend on how much time left in your day you have for engaging.

If there is something more important that you can do instead of engaging in other’s posts, of course, you are going to do that.

But in the end, you should comment at least on 50 posts per day to see some great results.

Still don’t have a clue about how to create your own Instagram engagement strategy? Doesn’t matter, steal mine!

50 Comments On Hashtags

If you want to start growing and getting more engagement, commenting on hashtags is one of the best things that you can do.

Gary Vee has promoted this a lot in his $1.80 strategy, and whether you like it or not, it works.

Just go to a relevant hashtag in your industry, and check if there is some relevant and good-quality content in there…

…and start commenting.

But there is one thing that you have to keep in mind. NOT EVERY comment counts. You have to be valuable in your comments.

Congratulate them, give them feedback, etc.

But make sure that you are valuable in some way.

Otherwise, the comments that you are going to post will not have any effect whatsoever.

50 Comments On Accounts From Comment Sections

This is something that you have to do because you will be able to drive people that ARE WILLING TO ENGAGE to your profile.

If you want you can even stop commenting on hashtags and instead of 50 comments here make 100 comments.

It is really powerful.

All you have to do is just visit the account of a leading account in your industry, go to the comment section of one of their posts, and start visiting the accounts of the people who have commented there and comment there.

It is amazing!

Respond To Every Comment

Well, obviously, it is not a necessity when you get 500 comments on every post, but it is extremely powerful when it comes to building trust with your audience and giving them a reason to like and comment on your posts again, again, and again.

Always try to respond to as many comments as you can in order to get some amazing results and grow faster than you could ever imagine before.

All right, that’s it. Of course, you can engage in Instagram lives, stories, etc.

But this is the foundation that you should follow.

It is going to help your Instagram marketing strategy a lot, so don’t neglect it.

All right, are you going to use it? If so, let’s move on to the last Instagram engagement tip…

Stay Relevant

If there is a single Instagram engagement tip that I would have to choose from this blog post, it would be being relevant.

You see, you might share helpful posts that are in your niche, but your audience might not NEED them.

You must find out what they actually need and then create content around that. That is why you have to consistently survey your audience at least once per week.

You will be surprised how many of your followers will SMASH the like button and share your posts if you solve the problems they can’t find a solution for.
