If you want your content to reach people and have your followers share it, then you need to get engagement.
And comments are a big part of it. Also, besides boosting your reach, they are going to give you feedback that you need to improve, become a fantastic place to learn about your dream customers and way more.
So, the question is, how are you going to get more comments? That’s exactly what I am going to reveal to you today.

1. Engage To Get Engagement In Return
This is extremely important because if you’re not going to do it, then you’re never going to get a huge amount of comments on your posts.
That’s because personal interaction is just extremely important if you want to be successful. So, before you ask for engagement, be willing to give engagement as well.
People are going to comment more on your Instagram posts if they know you read the comments and give a genuine reply.
Also, if you comment on posts from people that you’ve never met, then they are likely going to go to your profile and comment on your content as well.
Here are some forms of engagement that you can try out:
- Reply to comments
- Comment on posts on hashtags
- Comment on posts from big accounts
- Reply to DMs
The moment you start doing it, it is going to have a nearly immediate effect. However, there is something that you must keep in mind.
You can’t engage just for the sake of it. All of the comments that you are going to make have to be personal and highly valuable.
If you are going to make 150 comments that look like this, “I love it.😎👀😍”, then I guarantee you that you’re not going to get any great results.
However, this is just one of the things that you can do to get more comments on Instagram today.
2. Create Better Content
The moment you have an honest look at your Instagram content is the moment you will finally break through. That’s because EVERYBODY’s content has something that needs improvement…
The only difference is that posts from some people are bad and posts from others are actually really great.
That means some of the posts need more things to be fixed than others.
However, the moment you are going to work on your Instagram content and actually make it great is the moment you are going to win.
That is because the main cause of not getting comments on Instagram is bad content.
So, make sure your posts always do these 3 things:
- It Shares Value (Education, Inspiration, Entertainment)
- It Is Well-Presented (Design, Message Simplicity, Video Quality, Etc.)
- It Is Relevant To Your Dream Customer Avatar
When it does all of these 3 things, then you are likely going to get more comments on the post and reach more people on Instagram than you could ever imagine before.

3. Ask For The Comment
How simple, right? Well, when you ask for the comment, then you are going to get a comment. This is especially powerful if your post is something like a quiz.
When you share a quiz then a simple and logical thing you should do at the end is to ask “How many correct answers did you have?”, right?
Well, on Instagram you want to say, “How many correct answers did you have? Comment below.”
Or regardless of the post that you share you can always add a call to action that is going to say, “What are your thoughts? Comment below…”
It is really simple and it works like a charm.
And that leads me to another way to get more comments on Instagram…
4. Share Posts That Directly INVOLVE The Audience
Just like I mentioned with quizzes, there are other post types that you can share to directly involve the audience.
First of all, it can be something like a “fill in the blank” post or “guess something” post where you are literally going to require them to comment the answer.
And 90% of people will comment because they want to get involved.
Also, this type of post receives a ton of other engagement and works like crazy. So, definitely try it out.
