Best Ways To Get Instagram Content Ideas

Getting new Instagram content ideas is the thing that keeps up at night almost every content creator and marketer, for a good reason.

A great content idea can be the difference between your post reaching hundreds of thousands of people or ten of them.

The way you deliver the content can be the same just like your previous content…

…just the Instagram content idea is different.

And that’s why in this article I am going to reveal to you some of the best ways to get Instagram content ideas and dominate.

So, are you ready to begin? If so, let’s dive in…

1-5-10 Infinite Instagram Content Ideas Method

Getting Instagram content ideas can be done in 2 ways. The first is a random appearance (the moment when you have a shower and then a light bulb appears above your head.)

The second way is to somehow get to it logically.

And that’s what the 1-5-10 method is about. With it, you will be able to get virtually unlimited Instagram content ideas super fast.

So, how does it work?

Here’s an infographic that is going to show you an example of how. You can download it below…

1-5-10 method to get Instagram content ideas

First, you pick a one main topic. This can be whatever you want.

For example, in the infographic above I picked “Instagram marketing.” This is the topic that you are going to break down into separate content ideas.

And, it doesn’t have to be as broad as the topic that I picked. You can start from a more specific topic like “Instagram engagement strategy”.

That’s why this method is great. Once you break down the topic, you can use the things that you broke down as the main content topics and break them down again. And then you can do it again.

In other words, you can get infinite content ideas.

However, picking the main content topic is just the first step towards getting infinite Instagram content ideas.

The second step that you need to take is, break it into five main subtopics.

Just like I did in the infographic, you’re going to go more in depth and like I did, break the main topic down into something like these examples:

  • Instagram marketing: content
  • Instagram marketing: engagement
  • Instagram marketing: profile
  • Instagram marketing: selling
  • Instagram marketing: traffic

And now, when you have these subtopics it is the time to break them down into 10 separate headlines.

That way you will have 10 content ideas that you can use for your content. If that’s not enough use this method to break down each of the headlines into another 10 ideas and if that’s still not enough break down the ideas you got been more.

It is simple, yet extremely powerful.

However, the 1-5-10 method is not the only way to get Instagram content ideas. Another logical way to get them is…

Use Keyword Tools

Using keyword tools mainly created for SEO is another fantastic way to get new content ideas.

That’s because they are going to show you keywords relevant to your industry and they keywords are a content idea by themselves…

And also, you are going to see how much the keyword is searched for, which means you’ll have a good view if the Instagram content idea is going to work.

Some of the best tools you can use to conduct a simple search are:

  • Ubersuggest
  • Ahrefs
  • Answer The Public
  • Moz
  • SEM Rush

Some of these tools are free, some of them are paid. Of course, if you use these tools just to get Instagram content ideas, then you can happily go with the free ones like Answer The Public or Ubersuggest.

But if you run a blog as well, then you might consider purchasing a subscription to get advanced features.

However, these are still just the logical ways to get new Instagram content ideas.

Another way to do that is to have the “light bulb” moment. And there are several ways you can get it. However, the best and quickest in my opinion is to…

Look For Inspiration Or Model

One of the best ways to get the light bulb moment and get a new idea is to look for inspiration.

By that, I mean looking at the work of other people and seeing what they did and using it for something own.

NOT COPYING. MODELING.

For example, if you scroll through the Instagram reel feed, you might see some reels use audio that you like…

And suddenly you can picture your own reel using this audio.

At that moment a content idea is born.

Another example might be scrolling through an explore page and seeing a carousel structured in a certain way.

Then you get an idea of how you could use that structure to explain a certain topic in your own carousel.

At that moment, another idea is born.

And that goes on and on. It is really powerful. But there’s still a solid chance that if you have a day when your creativity got lost you won’t get the idea

And that’s when you start the emergency protocol and…

Get Lost

Sometimes the best way to get a content idea is to stop thinking about it. Take a walk in a park, go somewhere to wild, etc.

Not only your mind will relax, but also you are going to likely get a new Instagram content idea in the process.

And believe me, the content ideas that you get while walking in the woods, hearing the sounds of nature all around are the BEST. So, go ahead and give this a shot. You won’t believe it until you try it yourself.

However, content ideas are just the beginning. Once you have it, you need to create the content itself.

And that’s why I am going to reveal to you how to create posts and reels that attract followers and convert them into customers here.

I hope you found this article helpful. If you use these strategies you will never struggle to get content ideas again.
