5 Necessary Digital Marketing Skills To Get Customers Online

Digital marketing consists of many different things and they all require different skillsets to be successful at them. If you don’t have them, you are likely to struggle.

So, what are the top 5 necessary digital marketing skills to get customers online?

That’s what I’m going to show you in this article.

A lot of people often confuse copywriting with content writing or copyrighting. But it has very little to do with content and nothing with copyrights.

Copywriting is selling through the written word. A sales copy is what you see as a description below a product in an e-commerce store, on a sales page, email, social media caption trying to make you take a certain action…and more.

And that is why this skill is so important.

No ad is going to work, no people will click your links on social media, and no product is going to get sold if you don’t know how to write great sales copy.

And what’s best is that if you’re just starting out in business, copywriting can easily become a high-income skill which is a skill that makes you at least $10,000/month.

So, how are you going to learn it?

Well, first off, I share some copywriting secrets in this blog that you can check out. I also highly recommend that you read these copywriting books:

Also, start creating a thing called a “swipe file” which is basically a collection of proven sales letters, and study how all of the sales copies are written.

Then take a pen and paper, pick the best sales copy, and write it out word-by-word on paper several times.

It is an exercise that works like crazy but only a few people do it because others are too lazy to do so.

But here comes another really important digital marketing skill that you must know…

Email Marketing

This one is a really big deal. Email marketing has an average return on investment of 4,200% and it is a big part of any business’s digital marketing as you NEED it to follow up with your dream customers.

And that’s why this skill is so important and such a big deal. If you are not going to use email online you miss out on 80% of revenue because you won’t be able to follow up.

But learning this skill is not easy at all. You will have to know how to make people join the list and become the leads, open your emails, read them, and click.

And if after that they don’t buy how to follow up or create a sales sequence that will make them do it.

So, how are you going to learn this extremely valuable skill? Again, you can start by reading the secrets and strategies inside the FK blog. I also recommend that you read these books that talk about some important things as well:

Funnel Building

Sales funnels are arguably the biggest revolution in the history of Instagram marketing. That’s because the sales process is so amazing hardly anything can beat it.

A sales funnel is a series of pages strategically created to walk people through a certain process that is going to turn even the most cold-fish leads into customers.

In fact, you’ll make people beg you to take their money before they even get to the sales page. And you have total control over the process, plus you can follow up and make people come back to the sales funnel even if they leave (email marketing.)

But learning how to build funnels is not easy. You have to understand what belongs where, how it should be structured, what kind of traffic temperature should be sent there, etc.

However, even though I am going to show you how they work, the only way to TRULY master sales funnels is by building them and getting results. (And if they don’t figure out what went wrong)

If you want to see what some sales funnels look like and then go through some of the ones that I have already made and “funnel hack” them.

I also recommend taking a look at Russell Brunson and others as well as his funnels are working more than well.

But now, let’s move on to another extremely important digital marketing skill…

Social Media Marketing

This one is really big as social media literally moves the Internet and your dream customers are either there or they likely don’t exist.

And that is why it is so important to get new customers. But the reason why you need to have this skill is far beyond just more exposure.

Social media is probably the BEST way to earn the loyalty of your dream customers and build relationships with them.

Plus, you can easily use it for customer support, getting new clients, and many more. And when it comes to sales funnels, the content you share there acts as a huge pre-frame. So social media traffic is generally warm.

When it comes to social media marketing, there are many different platforms that you can be on and you can either try to focus on one platform and truly master it or go broad and try to use general principles across all platforms.

But I bet you adjusting to every single platform individually and mastering it is a way better option if you want to get results.

Once you master one platform, then move on to the next one. However, there is an exception and that’s when you hire other people. If your employees already know what to do then you can get on all platforms at once.

Online advertising is one of the most important digital marketing skills that you need to develop if you want to be successful with digital marketing.

The reason? Organic strategies to get exposure aren’t enough. You need to buy it as well and know how to get immediate returns.

Think of it as printing your own money. When you get good at this, every $1 that you spend will quickly come back to you as $2 or more because you’ll make sales.

That’s just like legally printing your own money.

Isn’t that incredible?

There are many places where you can advertise online.

First off, there are social media platforms like Instagram (I’ll talk about this one in the course too), LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, etc., then there are search engines like Google or Bing, and last, there is the rest of the Internet.

The rest of the Internet means buying advertising in emails somebody in your industry sends out, buying ads on a blog, etc.

When you master advertising online, you’ll be able to scale like crazy.
