Before we even dive deep into how to monetize your Instagram effectively, it is important that you know this mistake.
Most people often make it, especially when they are desperate to make sales. And I’m here to tell you that even though it might boost your sales for a few days, it will kill them in the long-term. So, what is the thing that I’m talking about?
If you’re one of those businesses who share nothing but their latest offers, discount promotions, etc, you can’t be surprised that you don’t attract more of your dream customers, your engagement is in the toilet and nothing seems to work.
Unless you share real, VALUABLE content you are screwed.
However, by saying that you shouldn’t overpromote if you want to do Instagram monetization effectively, I don’t say you shouldn’t promote at all.
In fact, the opposite. You must promote. So, to make this clear, let me show you the 80/20 content rule for maximum growth and sales on Instagram that will take your Instagram monetization to a whole new level.
80% of your content = valuable posts that educate, entertain, or inspire
20% of your content = promotional content, sequences, etc.
In other words, if you share 10 posts per week, you should make 8 of those posts valuable and 2 of those posts promotional.
It’s going to change everything.

Highlight sales sequences are one of the most amazing things that you can use for better Instagram monetization.

So, the question is, how are you going to create one? And it’s pretty simple.
You’re going to follow one of the basic copywriting formulas and split the message into many stories that are going to act as a sequence.
For example, you can use the AIDA formula.
The first 2 stories in the sequence are going to be about grabbing their attention. The next two (or more) stories are going to be about creating interest. Another stories are going to be about the desire-building.
And last, of course, you’re going to share a story or a few stories asking them to take action and building urgency.
It’s as simple as that. Or you can use PAS formula.
Or you can use before-after-bridge. And on and on.
The options are endless.

This is another really important thing that you should do.
Promotional post campaigns are literally a series of posts that are going to be posted in a certain order in a certain period of time to accomplish one goal: THE SALE.
They are created kinda similarly to highlight sales sequences, but the formulas are used on a broader image.
For example, let’s say we’re going to create 10-post promotional campaign for a launch of a product using the AIDA formula.
That way, it would look like this:
Day #1: Launch Announcement Post
Day #2: Official Announcement
Day #3: Future-Based Cause
Day #4: Social Proof
Day #5: Before-After-Bridge
Day #6: Sneak Peek Into The Offer
Day #7: Social Proof #2
Day #8: New Bonus Announcement
Day #9: Call To Action + Urgency #1
Day #10: Urgency #2 + Recap
When you create a campaign like this, it can make a lot of people make the buying decision directly on Instagram and just go to your website to hit the “buy” button.
However, for some, it is going to be just a massive pre-frame that is going to make it easy for you to sell them in the sales funnel.
It’s just super powerful to create sequences like this for your Instagram monetization.
However, now you should hold your hat.
If you want to, you can actually PIN the promotional posts on your profile and make them act exactly like the highlight sales sequences.
In other words, they are going to sell for you 24/7/365 and they will generate more sales for you than you can imagine.
It’s just incredibly powerful for your Instagram monetization.
Use Stories For Promotion
This is another extremely important thing if you want to do Instagram monetization effectively.
Leveraging the link sticker is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your Instagram sales funnel and therefore one of the most powerful Instagram monetization tools that you have in your arsenal.
Now, there are many ways you can use it effectively.
First of all, you can go and just share a simple promotional story at the end of all the stories that you already posted that looks like this…
Of course, it doesn’t have to be just a headline and a link sticker.
You can also use video, or share more of the stories in a row to get the message over.
And that’s the point I want to talk about.
You can actually do EXACTLY the same thing as you did when creating highlight sales sequences (and you must if you want to save the story as a highlight).
When you do that, you will see that the number of clicks on the link sticker is going to go through the roof.
So definitely try it out. But again, with all of these things don’t forget to stick to the 80/20 content rule.
Otherwise, it is going to be super hard for you to do Instagram monetization in the future.
