The Very Best B2B Social Media Marketing Strategies

Doing B2B social media marketing is a fantastic way to grow your business. But it’s almost impossible without the right strategies.

However, if you know what to do, your business is gonna be on a rocketship to massive reach and new customers.

That’s why in today’s blog post I’m going to show you the best B2B social media marketing strategies that will explode your online presence and let you grow like crazy on social media.

So, are you ready to begin? If so, let’s dive in…

Build Authority

This is absolutely essential, especially in the B2B industry. If you want to be successful with B2B social media marketing, then the other business that you want to have as your client or a customer must TRUST you.

And the only way you’re going to make them trust you is by building massive authority.

The question is, how are you going to do that? Well, there are two main B2B authority-building social media strategies that work on ANY social media…

Tell Stories About Your Background

This is especially powerful as you’re going to become relatable. And being relatable is what builds massive trust.

Don’t be afraid to share your background story, talk about your failures, successes, experience, what has happened, and more.

I GUARANTEE you that those who are going to read the story (or at least a part of it) will start to say, “Oh, that has happened/is happening to me as well! It felt/feels_____”

And that’s where you win.

The more stories you’re going to tell, the stronger relationships you are going to build with your audience, and therefore, you’re going to earn their trust.

And, obviously, the more trust you have, the more sales you’re going to make. Another big benefit is that you can use these stories to sell.

As you already know, stories are one of the best ways to appeal to emotions in your dream customers and, as I mentioned before, build relationships and trust.

So, if you’re going to use the stories in your promo campaigns, you’re for sure going to get incredible results.

But there is also another universal way to build trust with your dream customers while doing B2B social media marketing…

Share Social Proof

Sharing social proof will always work as it’s not about what a brand says about itself, it’s about what others say about the brand.

Social proof is a super universal B2B social media marketing strategy to build trust as people can see that OTHER people had a great experience with you.

And for most, that’s crucial in order to buy, including in B2B.

So, you want to also share some testimonials if you can. But remember that it must not be more than 20% of your content.

If you’re going to overdo it and your content is not going to provide your audience with any actual value, you’re going to lose followers which means you’ll be losing dream customers.

But now, let’s move on to another of the B2B social media marketing strategies to build trust which is…

Share Your Achievements

There is always something your brand has accomplished, right? Maybe you got an award, maybe you served a certain number of customers, maybe you are in business for a long period of time and you have an anniversary…

…you want to share all of this stuff.

Not that it only builds trust, but it also makes people recommend you to others as they KNOW you can perform. This is also, an effect of sharing testimonials and backstories.

But again, sharing achievements, testimonials, and backstories must not count for more than 20% of all of the content that you are going to share.

If it will, you’re going to see a decline in engagement or worse lose your followers.

But if you’re going to stick within the 20% ratio, it’s one of the best things you can do.

And now, let’s move on to another of the B2B social media marketing strategies that’s often forgotten…

Network With Other Entrepreneurs

Networking with other entrepreneurs is a door to opportunities and probably the best B2B social media marketing strategy that I’m going to share with you today.

The very best social media platform that you can use to do it is LinkedIn as almost everybody there is looking to network, connect with people, and do business.

But the problem is that there is actually no exact strategy to do that.

You just have to engage with people, message them, help them, and eventually sell them something, collaborate with them, or even do partnerships with them.

However, there is no way you’re going to make sales by sending cold messages to as many people as you can.

Instead, you have to build some relationships first. And the way you’re going to do that is by engaging with them in comments, DMs, etc.

The more you are going to do it, the more results and opportunities you’re going to see and the more money you are going to be able to make.

Outvalue Your Competitors

One of the best B2B social media marketing strategies to get new clients, make a good impression on them, and reach more people on any social media platform is by outvaluing everybody.

In other words, you’re going to post more, better quality, super-relevant, valuable content than your competitors ever could.

You can see Gary Vee do it all the time.

Gary is posting from 3-7 times per day (I know only a few people who do this), he makes the content as valuable as possible, and he is consistent with it.

Also, he does his best to show up in front of audiences of other people by going to interviews, collaborating with them, etc. so that he can reach more people.

In other words, he completely outvalues all of the competitors and you can see the result. MILLIONS of people follow him on almost every social media platform and he has virtually no competitors.

And of course, he is making more sales than you can count.

If you want to be successful with B2B social media marketing, you have to do this as well. Post as much as you can.

And if you don’t want to consistently create new content repurpose it from other platforms (sometimes you can also curate it), and totally outvalue EVERYBODY in your space.

You are going to see results.

Leverage The Platform’s Features

Every social media platform that you can use for B2B social media marketing has different features, and if you want to successfully reach as many of your dream customers as possible, you need to LEVERAGE them.

To show you how this B2B social media marketing strategy works, I’m going to give you an example about Instagram.

If you’ve used Instagram to market your business, you know that there are many special features you can’t overlook, like reels feed, explore page, SFY lists, suggested posts, etc.

Every second, millions of people are using these features to discover new content, and if you’re going to get your post on, for example, explore page, you can reach tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of people with virtually no effort.

Example of an explore page on Instagram

In other words, you can go viral. But for that to happen, you must know what makes content rank on the explore page.

And that’s what I mean. So, obviously, if you want to rank your content there, you will start testing what works and doesn’t work…and once you know what does, do more of it.

The same comes for platforms like LinkedIn.

On LinkedIn, when you engage with a post, your own followers will see that you engaged with it and it is going to appear in their home feed.

That means, the more engagement you are going to get, the more you are going to grow.

And the results are truly incredible.

So, obviously, when you know about this feature, what you’re going to do is to focus most of your efforts on engaging with others so that they return you the favor, network in the process, and reach a ton of new people.

It’s just incredibly powerful.

But now, let’s move on to the next one of the B2B social media marketing strategies, which is…

Use Social Media For Customer Support

Social media is an amazing way to provide your current customers or clients with customer support and handle certain problems.

And not giving them the opportunity to use it for that reason would be a bad decision.

First of all, you don’t need to set up any special automation systems on your own website if you’re going to do this, and second, it will again, let you build better relationships with them, AND if they have a question about a certain product or service effectively follow up (that would be impossible if they’d use a chat feature on your website.)

Also, if you’re on Facebook and Instagram, you can create a set of frequently asked questions that they can just tap on and get an immediate response without you doing anything.

That is going to save you a lot of trouble.

But what’s best is that you can also use something like a chatbot and create chatbot sales funnels that can sell them directly in the chat.

If you don’t know any tool you can use for that purpose, I recommend ManyChat. It is free to try and it is directly collaborating with Facebook so there is no way you can get have any trouble because of using it.

Make A Great First Impression

Another thing that is absolutely necessary is making a good first impression. And besides of posting high-quality content (which your dream customers are most likely going to see first), you also must optimize your profile.

Example of an optimized profile on LinkedIn from Filip Konecny

On every platform, optimizing your profile requires different things. On LinkedIn, you have to pay a lot of attention to it as it requires a lot of steps from writing an about section to creating a great banner, changing things in settings, etc.

On Instagram and Twitter it is way simpler as there are not that many things, and on and on.

You have to do this on every platform carefully, and the goal should be always the same:

  • Give them a reason to follow you
  • Give them a reason to trust you
  • Give them a reason to buy from you
  • Tell them what to do next

When you’re going to do it, you’re going to boost your growth, make people trust you more, and get new customers.
