3 Top Social Media Marketing Strategies You Should Use

To be successful with social media marketing, you need to use the right strategies. There is no question about that.

The problem is that there are way more strategies for growing your following than you expected, right?

1. $1.80 Strategy From Gary Vee

This is a strategy mainly created by Gary Vee for Instagram but I am here to tell you that it works for almost every social media platform.

I have successfully tested it on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and other platforms…and it has always resulted in more likes on my posts, more followers, and in short – I was able to attract more people to my profile.

This is the basic strategy that you can use to raise your profile from the darkness to the light.

But the question is – how does it work?

It is actually really simple. You make one comment (2¢) on 9 posts on 10 different hashtags.

When you do the math – 2¢x9x10 = $1.80

In short, you are going to make 90 comments on posts that you see on hashtag pages every day. It takes discipline but it works for almost every platform.


But remember, that the comment must not look like this – “Great post! Thanks for sharing.”

If this is the case, this social media marketing strategy is not going to work for you.

Your comments have to be valuable and you have to write them only when you have consumed the post yourself.

In short, give honest feedback. That gets people’s attention and makes them go to your profile.

But you might think that you will reach only 90 people when you do this, right?


Not only the creators will see the comment, but also the people who check the comment section will see it.

That means the reach potential is unlimited.

So, keep doing this social media marketing strategy and you will see results.

2. 3-Purpose Content Strategy

Your content strategy should cover 3 parts.

First, it is attracting new people to visit your profile/channel.

Second, it is to make them follow you and to nurture them.

And last part is actually promoting what you have to sell (driving traffic).

It is really simple to break down what content you need to create to comply with all of these things – but let’s see…

First, we have the “attraction content”

This content type is going to consist of trending content in your industry AND created in trending formats that the platform likes to promote.

For example, on Instagram reels are booming right now and you can get a ton of reach by creating them.

What you want to do is to create content around trending topics (for example, lip-syncing) in reels.

I see people EVERY DAY reach 100,000 people doing that when they have somewhere around 500 followers.

How crazy is that?

This works on every platform – but also there are additional factors that you have to pay attention to.

For example, on YouTube SEO is what dominates reach.

So, you want to create some YouTube shorts, do a great SEO, and make it around a trending topic in your industry…and BOOM!

You will reach a ton of people.

Got it?

Second we have “nurturing” content

This is mostly going to be some sort of educational content but if you are in the entertainment industry it can be something else.

It depends on what industry you’re in.

Unless you have defined that and what your audience NEEDS, it is going to be hard for you to actually know how to nurture them.

But once you know that, all you have to do is to deliver and you will see how much trust and authority you will get after some time.

Third, we have promotional content

These are all of the posts announcing a new product/service, asking them to click the link in your bio because you have created a new webinar, and so on.

In short, these are the posts that are promoting something, and you MUST leverage them if you want to be successful…

…but be careful not to overdo it.

Remember, stick to the 80/20 rule. 80% of the content is going to be pure VALUE, 20% of content can be promotional.

Never violate it because otherwise your followers will get overwhelmed by all of the promotions and they will start unfollowing you.

3.Social Media Selling Strategy (A.K.A. Social Media Sales Funnels)

Now, there are many things that you can do to sell your products and services using social media, but the most effective thing that has ever been created for that is sales funnels.

A sales funnel is kinda like a salesperson that sells your products or services 24/7/365 without wanting any salary, raise or benefits…

…also upsells the customer a few times to MAXIMIZE the profits, and then follows up to sell them something else which makes you even more money (AND HELPS THE CUSTOMER.)

Here is how a basic social media sales funnel looks like:

  1. Opt-In Page
  2. Sales Page
  3. 1-2 Upsell Pages
  4. Thank You Page
  5. During The Whole Sales Process You Follow Up With Email

Isn’t that cool? In short, they click the link in your bio, post, etc. they get redirected to the opt-in page, and then they can enjoy the sales ride!

You will make a ton of money, they will benefit from what you sell, and you are both happy.
