Social media marketing is not for every business, or is it? What is the biggest benefit of social media marketing?
There are so many questions but few answers. If you feel like that don’t worry.
In this astonishing article, I’m going to show you exactly what social media marketing is about, what is th biggest benefit and how to start with it today.
So, let’s dive in…
What’s The Biggest Benefit Of Social Media Marketing?
As you know, social media marketing is mostly spread as a great thing to do because it has a ton of benefits, and most importantly it is FREE.
While that might be an amazing benefit for freelancers and start-up entrepreneurs, what is the thing that is most beneficial for big brands as well because you can even go down the street…
…yelling about your product and service and call it marketing, right?
Well, the biggest benefit is the massive organic reach most social media platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, or Instagram have.
And the best part is that it acts like a snowball. I call it the snowball effect.
The bigger the following, engagement, and reach your content gets, the more new people will discover your posts. It is just stunning.
But even though this is a fantastic social media marketing benefit that you want to be aware of, the fact is – it is not easy to start from zero without any ads.
Or at least it was because, with the things that I am going to share with you in this article, you will get an unfair advantage on ANY social media platform…
Are you excited to see how it is going to benefit you?
If so, let’s see how the social media marketing tactics look like…
How To Start With Social Media Marketing…And Win?
That is the question everybody who sees all of the benefits of social media marketing and decides to take a step forward and claim them wants to know.
You can use this simple formula that I have prepared for you:
These are the only four steps that you have to follow. But all of these steps include some “sub-steps” that you gotta be aware of as well. Let’s check them out:
This is the first step that you need to take if you want to be successful with social media marketing. If you’re not able to attract new followers you are not going to succeed.
And the way you are going to do is through your content and engagement strategy + platform’s unique features.
First, we have the content. Content is the key to everything. Don’t even expect that you can grow on your social media platform if your content sucks.
And because you are just beginning and you need to get a better understanding of how to create content that is going to dominate the platform that you are on, you have to spy on the leaders in your industry that are there.
For example, if I would want to be on YouTube and I would be in the restaurant industry, what I would do is that I would check Gordon Ramsey and spy on the type of content that he creates…
…then I would try to model it and do something similar as well. (Note that I said model – NOT COPY.)
Or if I would be on Instagram and I would be in the real estate industry, I would follow people like Grant Cardone and his company Cardone Capital…and model what they do. And so on.
It is one of the best things to do because these industry leaders already KNOW what works on that platform and what doesn’t.
So, if you are going to follow them you are going to strike gold really soon.
The next thing that you need to have is a great engagement strategy. I don’t know how true that is for YouTube, but for almost every other social media platform it is extremely essential.
Because when you engage with content from other people, the thing that is going to happen is that their followers will see your comments, opinions, chat messages, etc. and they will come to check you out.
Sometimes it’s not just the followers who will actually check your profile and then spread the message about you to more people…
…but even the creators themselves are going to do it. That’s the cool part, isn’t it?
Later you can even start collaborating with them and find out how to get in front of their audience for free, but that is something you shouldn’t be focusing on after you create your account.
And last, you have to make sure that you understand the platform’s unique features where dream customers who have never seen you before can find out your content.
The most common ones are hashtags, explore page, search, or something else.
But every platform has its own unique features that you want to explore.
So check them out and make sure that you know the platform that you are on well…and then find out how to leverage those features to attract new followers.
Once you have some of your dream customers coming to your profile, you need to make them hit the follow or subscribe button.
And the thing that matters the most when it comes to making this happen is your PROFILE and your CONTENT.
Well, let’s check, in general, what you have to do to make sure that your profile converts – it is almost impossible to give specific tips for EVERY platform so I am going to try sharing what matters the most:
- Movement Identifier (Something like “Funnel hackers” or “Elite marketers – in short, a thing they can call themselves when they follow you.)
- Call To Action
Let’s look at the second step which is your content.
Again, this is something I would love to give some advice on that works for every platform but it is almost impossible.
So, here is some general knowledge for creating social media marketing content that works:
- Study your audience
- Make it about them
- Give as much value as possible
- Make the message clear and specific
- If possible using videos is way more relatable
- Write a great caption (Hook-transition-call to action is a great formula to use)
- Write stunning headlines
- And more.
Why the “and more” thing? Because I can list 50 tips and go even further. But the biggest secret is something that I have already shared with you.
You want to go to the leader of your industry and model their content and content strategy. They already KNOW what works – that means when you model their strategy, you are going to be successful too!
As Tonny Robbins said:
”If you want to change any area of your life start by finding someone who has achieved what you want to accomplish. Mirror and model them to speed up your success!”– Tony Robbins
All right, the next thing is Nurturing your following and building relationships with them.
This is again going to be done through your content, and especially by engaging them with you in every way possible (polls, live streams, quizzes, webinars, etc.)
Of course, you can do this nurturing part in its entirety on the platform that you are on, but it is useful to take it off the platform as well.
That means, redirecting your followers to your blog, other social media channels, podcasts, and so on.
The more content you make them consume and the more background that they can relate with you can share about your brand, the stronger relationship you are going to build.
And relationships equal trust. And trust equals? SALES!
That’s the last part.
Now it’s time to make those sales, and the way you are going to do it is by building a social media sales funnel.
There are many different options that you can choose but the basic funnel looks like this:
- Opt-In Page
- Sales Page
- 1-2 Upsell Pages
- Thank You Page
If you are going to use it, you are going to be able to get more customers than you can handle.
